How to adjust the height of the distributor head and the tamper head:

Simply hold onto the two centerpieces and turn counter-clockwise. This will loosen both heads. Turn the distributor head or tamper head counter-clockwise to increase the height and clockwise to decrease the height. Once your desired height is selected, hold onto the two centerpieces and turn clockwise to lock it into place.

Instructions:

Load portafilter basket with your favourite ground espresso. Using the distributor side (3 blades), adjust the depth to ensure it makes impact with the top of the ground espresso. Spin the distributor 3-4 times or until your espresso grounds have been evenly distributed. Next, use the tamper (flat side) and apply 30 lbs of pressure to the evenly distributed espresso. Adjust the height of the tamper so that the body of the tool rests on top of the portafilter basket when tamping. This will ensure a consistent tamp every time.
